A dark cinematic barreling ocean wave lit with glowing teal light
First experiment: PipeRunner

Clean machines for wild water.

A playful ocean innovation project exploring electric marine vehicles, artificial wave systems, and cleaner futures for the world's water.

The ridiculous question

What if a clean electric vessel could make a perfect wave?

Not a pool. Not a gimmick. A mobile hydrodynamic machine designed to explore whether motion, water displacement, and clean propulsion could create a controlled, surfable barrel.

The first experiment

PipeRunner

An electric wave-making vessel concept inspired by the search for the perfect barrel — a speculative machine that uses controlled motion, hydrodynamic shaping, and clean propulsion to explore whether a pristine 6–8 foot barreling wave could be produced in controlled water environments.

  • Electric or hybrid-electric propulsion
  • Hydrodynamic foil/plow-inspired wave generation
  • Designed for controlled lagoons, basins, or protected water environments
  • Surf, research, tourism, and public demonstration potential
  • Future cleanup and sensing payload integrations
Concept-stage exploration. Not currently an active commercial vessel.

Bigger than surfing

One wave machine is only the beginning.

Ocean Motions is a wider effort to make the ocean feel engineered, alive, and worth protecting — across three connected fronts.

Clean Motion

Electric marine vehicles, low-emission harbor systems, and experimental wave generation.

Clean Water

Ocean cleanup technology, water-quality sensing, microplastic research, and coastal restoration.

Clean Culture

Media, campaigns, merch, surf and ocean storytelling, and public experiments.

The ocean should feel futuristic, not disposable.

Ocean Motions is a concept-stage ocean innovation project exploring electric marine vehicles, artificial wave systems, ocean cleanup technology, and water-quality sensing. Most environmental efforts make people feel guilty — we start with awe, humor, engineering, motion, and the almost unreasonable desire to leave the water cleaner than we found it.

Live

Current status: concept stage.

Ocean Motions is beginning with research, design exploration, public imagination, and early collaborator conversations across:

  • Marine engineering
  • Surf culture
  • Ocean restoration
  • Clean technology
